Are you on the NICE or NAUGHTY list?

First, let me say, thank you to everyone who visited my blog and Facebook page for my 12 days of Christmas giveaways!  That was so fun!  Congrats to all the winners!!  You have all been e-mailed.  :)

Second, every year when December hits, it's like the rules go out the window...sound familiar?  So, I came up with this little activity to help my little sweeties remember HOW TO (fill in the blank).

I made the big Santa and had the lists and headers ready to go.  Then, I let my students tell me where each card belongs and I taped them to the correct list.
I found the naughty/nice sign at Target dollar spot.
Here's some good news!  You can get this for FREE if you are a follower of my TPT store.
If you aren't and want this for  FREE...go now and follow...CLICK HERE.
I will be sending out a message soon to my followers with the link to the freebie.  :)
Merry Christmas!

Gingerbread Man Ideas!

I love teaching using The Gingerbread Man!  I always do it in December and it's one of my favorite units.  I love all the different versions and my kids eat up the story!!  It's just the best.  I haven't changed a lot of what I did from last year so I'm gonna do a "re-post" of my last year's gingerbread post.  You can find my Gingerbread Fun unit HERE and my Runaway Gingerbread Craft HERE.

Don't forget, my 12 Days of Christmas posts begin TOMORROW!!

******************************RE-POST*****************************

After reading as many versions of The Gingerbread Man that we could, Friday we made our own gingerbread cookie hoping he would NOT run away.  Here's our cookie pre oven.
We are on our way to bake our cookie...
After a few minutes, we went back to get him and, to our surprise…he DID run away!
Of course, we had to hurry and try to catch him...
We looked everywhere!  No luck! But, during p.e., I got a call from the principal and she caught him running in the halls and had to sit him in time-out for a few minutes.
I went and got him out…and of course, we enjoyed him for snack!

Here's just a few of our gingerbread centers this week.
The weekly pocket chart story

An all time favorite…flipping cookies for ending sounds
 Literacy and Math integrated center
And, building sight words on gingerbread houses.
Measuring...
The kids loved this.  They had to measure the gingerbread man first with peppermints then they had to compare their own height to the gingerbread man.  Are they taller or shorter?  I think we actually had on little one that was shorter than him.
We made this little 5 Senses anchor chart...
and then, these cute little 5 senses ginger friends...
We made Runaway Gingerbread Cookies!  I love the way these turned out and they look so cute hanging in our hallway!
We've also been learning about verbs so we made these cute little gingerbread friends and used verbs in our writing.

We made these adorable little Santa's from The Glyph Girls.
You can find him HERE.
I sent home a letter to Santa and the students returned them with their wishes!
